There are multiple ways to install <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/tag\/odoo\/\">Odoo<\/a>, but in this tutorial, we will install the latest Odoo 10 from the source using a python virtual environment. This guide should work on other Linux VPS systems as well but was tested and written for an <a title=\"Ubuntu VPS Hosting\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/ubuntu-hosting.html\">Ubuntu 16.04 VPS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Odoo (previously OpenERP) is a suite of business applications for Sales, CRM, Websites, Human Resources, Project management, Warehouse management and <\/em>many<em> more. postgres -c \"createuser --createdb --username postgres --no-createrole --no-superuser --no-password odoo\"<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Install-Odoo\"><\/span>Install Odoo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Switch to user odoo and clone the Odoo 10.0 branch from GitHub:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo su - odoo -s \/bin\/bash\r\ngit clone https:\/\/www.github.com\/odoo\/odoo --depth 1 --branch 10.0 --single-branch \/opt\/odoo\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Create python virtual environment and install all requirements:<\/p>\n<pre>cd \/opt\/odoo\r\nvirtualenv .\/venv\r\nsource .\/venv\/bin\/activate\r\npip install -r requirements.txt\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>When the installation is complete switch back your sudo user:<\/p>\n<pre>exit<\/pre>\n<p>Create a configuration file by copying the default <code>odoo-wsgi.example.py<\/code> file:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo cp \/opt\/odoo\/setup\/odoo-wsgi.example.py \/opt\/odoo\/setup\/odoo-wsgi.py\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Open the configuration file<\/p>\n<pre>sudo nano \/opt\/odoo\/setup\/odoo-wsgi.py<\/pre>\n<p>change the addon path to:<\/p>\n<pre>conf['addons_path'] = 'addons'<\/pre>\n<p>and set the master admin password:<\/p>\n<pre>conf['admin_passwd'] = 'my_secret_password'<\/pre>\n<p>If you want to print PDF reports in Odoo, you need to install the Wkhtmltopdf package:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt -y install wkhtmltopdf<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Install-Apache-and-mod-wsgi\"><\/span>Install Apache and mod_wsgi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have Apache installed on your system, install it with the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt update\r\nsudo apt install apache2<\/pre>\n<p>To install and enable the mod_wsgi, run the following commands:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt install libapache2-mod-wsgi\r\nsudo a2enmod wsgi\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Create an Apache virtual host directive for your domain:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo nano \/etc\/apache2\/sites-available\/odoo.conf<\/pre>\n<pre>&lt;VirtualHost *:80&gt;\r\n    ServerName my-odoo-domain.com\r\n    ServerAlias  www.my-odoo-domain.com\r\n\r\n    ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}\/odoo-error.log\r\n    CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}\/odoo-access.log combined\r\n\r\n    &lt;Directory \/opt\/odoo\/setup&gt;\r\n        &lt;Files odoo-wsgi.py&gt;\r\n            Require all granted\r\n        &lt;\/Files&gt;\r\n    &lt;\/Directory&gt;\r\n\r\n    WSGIDaemonProcess odoo user=odoo group=odoo python-home=\/opt\/odoo\/venv\/ python-path=\/opt\/odoo\r\n    WSGIProcessGroup odoo\r\n    WSGIScriptAlias \/ \/opt\/odoo\/setup\/odoo-wsgi.py\r\n\r\n&lt;\/VirtualHost&gt;\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Activate the virtual host by creating a symbolic link and restart Apache.<\/p>\n<pre>sudo a2ensite odoo\r\nsudo systemctl restart apache2\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>That\u2019s it. You have successfully installed Odoo with Apache2 and mod_wsgi on your <a title=\"Ubuntu VPS Hosting\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/ubuntu-hosting.html\">Ubuntu 16.04 VPS<\/a>.
