Install Laravel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Installing Laravel is a straightforward process, in this guide we will install Laravel using the composer create-project command.<\/p>\n<p>Delete the default files created by DirectAdmin:<\/p>\n<pre>rm -rf \/home\/USERNAME\/domains\/LARAVEL_DOMAIN_NAME\/public_html\/*<\/pre>\n<p>Switch to the domain root directory:<\/p>\n<pre>cd \/home\/USERNAME\/domains\/LARAVEL_DOMAIN_NAME\/public_html\/<\/pre>\n<p>and install Laravel using the composer <code>create-project<\/code> command (notice the dot at the end of the command):<\/p>\n<pre>composer create-project --prefer-dist laravel\/laravel .<\/pre>\n<p>If you are logged in as a root or another sudo user you will need to set the correct ownership and permissions:<\/p>\n<pre>chown -R USERNAME:USERNAME \/home\/USERNAME\/domains\/LARAVEL_DOMAIN_NAME\/public_html\/<\/pre>\n<p>Do not forget to change &#8216;USERNAME&#8217; with the actual username and LARAVEL_DOMAIN_NAME with the actual domain name.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5-Configure-DirectAdmin\"><\/span>5. Configure DirectAdmin<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We need to edit the default web server document root and change it from <code>public_html<\/code> to <code>public<\/code> as required by Laravel.<\/p>\n<p>Login to your DirectAdmin as admin at: <code>https:\/\/YOUR_SERER_IP:2222<\/code> and click on the &#8216;Custom HTTPD Configurations&#8217; link under the &#8216;Extra Features&#8217; section. In the new window you will see a list of all your domains, click on the domain where you have installed Laravel and you will be presented with a new window where you can edit your web server configuration.<\/p>\n<p>To change the document root add the following lines in the &#8220;Httpd.conf Customization for&#8221; text-area:<\/p>\n<pre>|?DOCROOT=`HOME`\/domains\/`DOMAIN`\/public_html\/public|<\/pre>\n<p>If you are using nginx you also need add the following lines so that Nginx can handle the requests.<\/p>\n<pre>location \/ {\n    try_files $uri $uri\/ \/index.php?$query_string;\n}\n<\/pre>\n<p>Finally click on the &#8216;Save&#8217; button.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>That\u2019s it. You have successfully installed and configured Laravel on your DirectAdmin Server.
