Zikula is an open-source web application framework written in PHP.\u00a0You can develop interactive and editable websites using Zikula Framework. Install Zikula on Ubuntu 16.04<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Download the latest version of Zikula available at https:\/\/github.com\/zikula\/core\/releases to the \/opt\/ directory on the server:<\/p>\n<pre>cd \/opt\/\r\nwget https:\/\/github.com\/zikula\/core\/releases\/download\/2.0.1\/Zikula_Core-2.0.1.zip\r\nunzip Zikula_Core-2.0.1.zip\r\nmv 2.0 \/var\/www\/html\/zikula\r\n<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6-Set-a-Proper-Ownership\"><\/span>6.\u00a0Set a Proper Ownership<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>All files have to be readable by the web server, so set a proper ownership:<\/p>\n<pre>chown www-data:www-data -R \/var\/www\/html\/zikula<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7-Create-Database-and-User\"><\/span>7. Create Database and User<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Create a new MySQL database and user:<\/p>\n<pre>mysql -u root -p\r\nmysql&gt; SET GLOBAL sql_mode='';\r\nmysql&gt; CREATE DATABASE zikuladb;\r\nmysql&gt; CREATE USER 'zikulauser'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'y0uR-pa5sW0rd';\r\nmysql&gt; GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON zikuladb.* TO 'zikulauser'@'localhost';\r\nmysql&gt; FLUSH PRIVILEGES;\r\nmysql&gt; quit<\/pre>\n<p>Do not forget to replace &#8216;y0uR-pa5sW0rd&#8217; with a strong password.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"8-Create-a-New-Virtual-Host\"><\/span>8.\u00a0Create a New Virtual Host<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Create a new virtual host directive in Apache. For example, create a new Apache configuration file named \u2018zikula.conf\u2019 on your virtual server:<\/p>\n<pre>touch \/etc\/apache2\/sites-available\/zikula.conf\r\nln -s \/etc\/apache2\/sites-available\/zikula.conf \/etc\/apache2\/sites-enabled\/zikula.conf\r\nvi \/etc\/apache2\/sites-available\/zikula.conf<\/pre>\n<p>Then, add the following lines:<\/p>\n<pre>&lt;VirtualHost *:80&gt;\r\nServerAdmin admin@your-domain.com\r\nDocumentRoot \/var\/www\/html\/zikula\/\r\nServerName your-domain.com\r\nServerAlias www.your-domain.com\r\n&lt;Directory \/var\/www\/html\/zikula\/&gt;\r\nOptions FollowSymLinks\r\nAllowOverride All\r\nOrder allow,deny\r\nallow from all\r\n&lt;\/Directory&gt;\r\nErrorLog \/var\/log\/apache2\/your-domain.com-error_log\r\nCustomLog \/var\/log\/apache2\/your-domain.com-access_log common\r\n&lt;\/VirtualHost&gt;\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Remove the 000-default.conf file:<\/p>\n<pre>rm \/etc\/apache2\/sites-enabled\/000-default.conf<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"9-Restart-Apache-Web-Server\"><\/span>9. Restart Apache Web Server<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Restart the Apache web server for the changes to take effect:<\/p>\n<pre>service apache2 restart<\/pre>\n<p>Open http:\/\/your-domain.com in your favorite web browser and follow the easy instructions on the install screen inserting the necessary information as requested:<\/p>\n<pre>Database type: MySQL\r\nStorage Engine: InnoDB\r\nDatabase Host: localhost\r\nDatabase Username: zikulauser\r\nDatabase Password: y0uR-pa5sW0rd   \/\/ change this password with your actual password\r\nDatabase Name: zikuladb<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"10-Continue-Zikula-Installation-in-Web-Browser\"><\/span>10. Continue Zikula Installation in Web Browser<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>On the next page, create a new Zikula administrator account.<\/p>\n<p>Click &#8216;Begin Installer&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>That is it.
