Wekan makes use of what they call &#8216;Board&#8217; from which you can add your team members. Additionally, replace &#8216;root&#8217; with the username of the account that has sudo privileges if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Once logged in, it is best to check for package updates on the repositories available.<\/p>\n<pre>yum update -y<\/pre>\n<p>We also recommend installing the EPEL release repository and the basic development libraries to stand clear of any missing libraries in the future.<\/p>\n<pre>yum install epel-release -y<\/pre>\n<pre>yum groupinstall -y \"Development Tools\"<\/pre>\n<h2 id=\"install-and-configure-rabbitmq\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-2-Installing-Snap\"><\/span>Step 2: Installing Snap<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The latest version and future versions of Wekan will be created using Snap package framework for easier installation on different platforms. Since the Snap package is not officially available with CentOS 7, we will need to install and enable COPR &#8211; a lightweight build system for installing third-party repositories.<\/p>\n<p>To proceed with the Snap installation, execute the following commands one by one:<\/p>\n<pre>yum makecache fast\r\nyum install yum-plugin-copr\r\nyum copr enable ngompa\/snapcore-el7\r\nyum install snapd<\/pre>\n<p>Once the Snap package is installed, we can now enable the snapd.socket service:<\/p>\n<pre>systemctl enable --now snapd.socket<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-3-Installing-Wekan\"><\/span>Step 3: Installing Wekan<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After a successful installation of the Snap package, we can now install Wekan using just one line:<\/p>\n<pre>snap install wekan<\/pre>\n<p>If the installation was a success, you should see the following output:<\/p>\n<p><code>wekan 2.65 from Lauri Ojansivu (xet7) installed<\/code><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-4-Setting-Up-Wekan\"><\/span>Step 4: Setting Up Wekan<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Since Wekan has been installed using Snap, we can use its built-in CLI to modify some of Wekan&#8217;s basic settings.<\/p>\n<p>First would be the domain name. Set the domain name using the following command. Make sure to replace <code>your_domain.com<\/code> with your actual registered domain name.<\/p>\n<pre>snap set wekan root-url=\"<code>http:\/\/wekan.your_domain.com<\/code>\"<\/pre>\n<p>It is required to assign a port on our Wekan installation. You may use any port that is available and in range.<\/p>\n<pre>snap set wekan port='3001'<\/pre>\n<p>Next step is to set up the email server for SMTP connections. It is recommended to be set up properly since it is required when registering and for a password reset.<\/p>\n<pre>snap set wekan mail-url='smtps:\/\/user:pass@wekan.rosehosting.com:453'\r\nsnap set wekan mail-from='Wekan Boards &lt;support@wekan.rosehosting.com&gt;'<\/pre>\n<p>Check other <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/wekan\/wekan\/wiki\/Troubleshooting-Mail\">email configurations<\/a> available for Wekan.<\/p>\n<p>Once all the basic configurations are updated, we can now restart our Snap &#8211; Wekan service to apply the changes.<\/p>\n<pre>systemctl restart snap.wekan.wekan<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-5-Accessing-Wekan\"><\/span>Step 5: Accessing Wekan<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Once the service has been restarted, we can now access the login page by visiting the following link:<\/p>\n<p><code>http:\/\/[server_IP_address]:[port_assigned]<\/code><\/p>\n<p>You should see the login page which looks like this:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30646\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_login.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"353\" height=\"441\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_login.png 353w, https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_login-120x150.png 120w, https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_login-240x300.png 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 353px) 100vw, 353px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Currently, there is no default &#8216;username&#8217; and &#8216;password&#8217; for the Administrator account and registration should be done first.<\/p>\n<p>Note that the <strong><code>first account to be registered<\/code><\/strong> will be automatically assigned with the Administrator role.<\/p>\n<p>Once logged in, you should be able to see Wekan&#8217;s default dashboard interface which looks like the following image:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30647\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_dashboard.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1917\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_dashboard.png 1917w, https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_dashboard-150x19.png 150w, https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_dashboard-300x37.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_dashboard-768x95.png 768w, https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_dashboard-1024x127.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/wekan_dashboard-1080x134.png 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1917px) 100vw, 1917px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-6-Setting-Up-Wekan-with-an-Nginx-Reverse-Proxy\"><\/span>Step 6: Setting Up Wekan with an Nginx Reverse Proxy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Since our Wekan application is running on a port, we can set up a reverse proxy using Nginx web server to host our application directly on our desired domain or subdomain without needing to enter a port number.<\/p>\n<p>First, install the Nginx web server by using the command:<\/p>\n<pre>yum -y install nginx<\/pre>\n<p>Once properly installed, create the Wekan virtual host file and paste the following text using your preferred text editor. Do not forget to modify the variables accordingly.<\/p>\n<pre>nano \/etc\/nginx\/conf.d\/wekan.conf<\/pre>\n<pre>server {\r\n\tlisten 80;\r\n        server_name <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">your_domain.com<\/span>;\r\n    \r\n        location \/ {\r\n            proxy_set_header   X-Real-IP $remote_addr;\r\n            proxy_set_header   Host      $host;\r\n            proxy_http_version 1.1;\r\n            proxy_set_header   Upgrade $http_upgrade;\r\n            proxy_set_header   Connection 'upgrade';\r\n            proxy_cache_bypass $http_upgrade;\r\n            proxy_pass         http:\/\/127.0.0.1:[port_assigned];\r\n        }\r\n\r\n        access_log \/var\/log\/nginx\/wekan-access.log;\r\n        error_log \/var\/log\/nginx\/wekan-error.log;\r\n}<\/pre>\n<p>Save and exit.
