Install the composer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The composer is a dependency manager for PHP with which you can install packages. The composer will pull in all the required libraries and dependencies you need for your project.<\/p>\n<pre>curl -sS https:\/\/getcomposer.org\/installer | php\r\nmv composer.phar \/usr\/local\/bin\/composer<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4-Install-Laravel\"><\/span>4. Install Laravel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Installing Laravel is a\u00a0pretty straightforward process, in this post we will install Laravel using the composer create-project command.<\/p>\n<p>Switch to the domain root directory:<\/p>\n<pre>cd \/home\/USERNAME\/public_html\/<\/pre>\n<p>and install Laravel using the composer <code>create-project<\/code> command (<small class=\"st\">Be sure to include the dot (.) at the end of the command.<\/small>):<\/p>\n<pre>composer create-project --prefer-dist laravel\/laravel .<\/pre>\n<p>If you are logged in as a root or another sudo user you will need to set the correct ownership and permissions:<\/p>\n<pre>chown -R USERNAME:USERNAME \/home\/USERNAME\/public_html\/<\/pre>\n<p><small>Do not forget to change &#8216;USERNAME&#8217; with the actual username.<\/small><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5-Configure-cPanel\"><\/span>5. Configure cPanel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We need to edit the default web server document root and change it from <code>public_html<\/code> to <code>public<\/code> as required by Laravel.<\/p>\n<h4>Change Document Root for an Addon domain<\/h4>\n<p>Login to your cPanel at: <code>https:\/\/YOUR_SERER_IP:2083<\/code> and in the &#8216;Domains&#8217; section click on the &#8216;Addon Domains&#8217;. In the new window, you will see a list of all your addon domains, click on the edit icon next to the domain&#8217;s document root path and enter the new path, for example <code>\/public_html\/laravel-addon-domain.com\/public<\/code>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6-Change-Document-Root-for-a-Primary-domain\"><\/span>6. Change Document Root for a Primary domain<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To change the main\/primary domain Document Root you need to have SSH root access to your server. Open the following file:<\/p>\n<pre>nano \/var\/cpanel\/userdata\/USERNAME\/MY_LARAVEL_DOMAIN.COM<\/pre>\n<p>and change the <code>documentroot<\/code> value, just add <code>public<\/code> at the end of the path, for example:<\/p>\n<pre>documentroot: \/home\/USERNAME\/public_html\/public<\/pre>\n<p>If you have an SSL certificate for your domain you also need to edit the <code>documentroot<\/code> value in the following file:<\/p>\n<pre>\/var\/cpanel\/userdata\/USERNAME\/MY_LARAVEL_DOMAIN.COM_SSL<\/pre>\n<p><small>Do not forget to change &#8216;USERNAME&#8217; with the actual username and MY_LARAVEL_DOMAIN.COM with the actual domain.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>Finally save the file and rebuild the Apache configuration:<\/p>\n<pre>\/scripts\/rebuildhttpdconf &amp;&amp; service httpd restart<\/pre>\n<hr \/>\n<p>That\u2019s it. You have successfully <strong>installed and configured Laravel on your cPanel<\/strong>.
