Additionally, replace \u2018root\u2019 with the username of the system user with sudo privileges.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You can check whether you have the proper Debian version installed on your server with the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ lsb_release -a<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You should get this output:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">No LSB modules are available.<br \/>Distributor ID: Ubuntu<br \/>Description: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS<br \/>Release: 20.04<br \/>Codename: focal<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Before starting, you have to make sure that all Ubuntu OS packages installed on the server are up to date. You can do this by running the following commands:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo apt update -y<br \/>$ sudo apt upgrade -y<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-1-install-collabora\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-1-Install-Collabora\"><\/span>Step 1. Install Collabora<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In this article, we will show you how to install Collabora from the Ubuntu repository. This article assumes that you already have a working Nextcloud instance. If you do not have it, you can follow our tutorial on how to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/how-to-install-nextcloud-on-ubuntu-20-04\/\">install Nextcloud on Ubuntu 20.04<\/a> here.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>First, let&#8217;s install dependencies.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo apt install apt-transport-https ca-certificates<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Next, we will add the Collabora Online official repository, let&#8217;s start this by importing the signing key.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ cd \/usr\/share\/keyrings<br \/>$ sudo wget https:\/\/collaboraoffice.com\/downloads\/gpg\/collaboraonline-release-keyring.gpg<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Then, let&#8217;s create a package source file <code>\/etc\/apt\/sources.list.d\/collaboraonline.sources<\/code><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo nano \/etc\/apt\/sources.list.d\/collaboraonline.sources<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Add the following contents to the file<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Types: deb\r\nURIs: https:\/\/www.collaboraoffice.com\/repos\/CollaboraOnline\/CODE-ubuntu2004\r\nSuites: .\/\r\nSigned-By: \/usr\/share\/keyrings\/collaboraonline-release-keyring.gpg<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Save the file then exit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Now, we need to download the package information from the newly added source above.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo apt update<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Finally, we can install Collabora Online Development Edition by running the command below.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo apt install coolwsd code-brand<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>That&#8217;s it. Collabora Online Development Edition has been successfully installed on your Ubuntu 20.04 server.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-2-configure-collabora\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-2-Configure-Collabora\"><\/span>Step 2. Configure Collabora<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>By default, the Collabora Online Socket Daemon enables a TLS connection. Configure Reverse Proxy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In this article, we will use Apache as the reverse proxy to Collabora. The connection between Nexcloud and Collabora should be established through a TLS enabled connection. Save the file and exit, then enable the virtual host.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo a2ensite collabora.yourdomain.com<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Before running the command, make sure you replace <code>collabora.yourdomain.com<\/code> with the actual domain\/subdomain you use to host Collabora.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Next, let&#8217;s enable some Apache modules to be able to proxy the traffic using Apache.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo a2enmod proxy proxy_http proxy_wstunnel<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>After making the changes above, we need to restart Apache<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo systemctl restart apache2<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-4-install-ssl-certificate\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-4-Install-SSL-Certificate\"><\/span>Step 4. Install SSL Certificate<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>We are going to install an SSL certificate for Collabora using the free SSL certificate from Lets Encrypt.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo apt install python3-certbot-apache<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Once installed, you can run the command and follow the instruction to install an SSL certificate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">$ sudo certbot<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-5-integrate-collabora\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step-5-Integrate-Collabora\"><\/span>Step 5.
