Change the current hostname on CentOS or Ubuntu<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To change the hostname on your CentOS or Ubuntu machine you should run the following command:<\/p>\n<pre># hostnamectl set-hostname virtual.server.com<\/pre>\n<p>Please note that you need to replace <code>virtual.server.com<\/code> with the new hostname you like to use.<\/p>\n<p>Now, when you check the current hostname status using the command <code>hostnamectl status<\/code> you will see the new hostname <code>virtual.server.com<\/code> instead of the old one <code>vps.server.com<\/code>. That means you have successfully changed the hostname on your server.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4-More-command-options\"><\/span>4.
