To do that you can use the following command:<\/p>\n<pre># yum update<\/pre>\n<p>Make sure the EPEL repository is present on the server, if it is not, this command will install it:<\/p>\n<pre># yum install epel-release<\/pre>\n<p>You can move to the next step once the EPEL repository has been installed.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2-Add-Apache-repository\"><\/span>2. Add Apache repository<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We are going to install CouchDB now, in order to do that we must first add the Apache repository, use nano to open a file at the following path and add the contents below:<\/p>\n<pre># nano \/etc\/yum.repos.d\/bintray-apache-couchdb-rpm.repo\r\n\r\n[bintray--apache-couchdb-rpm]\r\nname=bintray--apache-couchdb-rpm\r\nbaseurl=http:\/\/apache.bintray.com\/couchdb-rpm\/el$releasever\/$basearch\/\r\ngpgcheck=0\r\nrepo_gpgcheck=0\r\nenabled=1\r\n<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3-Install-Apache-CouchDB\"><\/span>3.\u00a0Install Apache CouchDB<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Now run the following command to install CouchDB:<\/p>\n<pre># yum install couchdb<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4-Configure-Apache-CouchDB\"><\/span>4. Configure Apache CouchDB<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When the installation is finished, run the following commands to start and enable CouchDB on boot:<\/p>\n<pre># systemctl start couchdb\r\n# systemctl enable couchdb<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5-Verify-if-CouchDB-service-is-running\"><\/span>5. Verify if\u00a0CouchDB service is running<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Check if the CouchDB service is running:<\/p>\n<pre># systemctl status couchdb\r\n\u25cf couchdb.service - Apache CouchDB\r\n   Loaded: loaded (\/usr\/lib\/systemd\/system\/couchdb.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)\r\n   Active: active (running) since Sun 2018-02-04 16:34:22 CST; 2min 33s ago\r\n Main PID: 1255 (beam.smp)\r\n   CGroup: \/system.slice\/couchdb.service\r\n           \u251c\u25001255 \/opt\/couchdb\/bin\/..\/erts-7.3\/bin\/beam.smp -K true -A 16 -Bd -- -root \/opt\/couchdb\/bin\/.. -progname couchdb -- -home \/opt\/couchdb -- -boot \/opt\/co...\r\n           \u251c\u25001263 \/opt\/couchdb\/bin\/..\/erts-7.3\/bin\/epmd -daemon\r\n           \u251c\u25001478 sh -s disksup\r\n           \u251c\u25001480 \/opt\/couchdb\/bin\/..\/lib\/os_mon-2.4\/priv\/bin\/memsup\r\n           \u2514\u25001481 \/opt\/couchdb\/bin\/..\/lib\/os_mon-2.4\/priv\/bin\/cpu_sup\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>If you get the output above, Apache CouchDB has been installed and running on your server, you can proceed to the next step.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6-Enable-Fauxton-Web-GUI-Administration-Panel\"><\/span>6. Enable Fauxton Web GUI Administration Panel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Fauxton is a web-based interface built into CouchDB. It provides a basic interface with the ability to manage documents, views and various configuration settings.<br \/>\nWe are going to enable Fauxton by modifying the following file first:<\/p>\n<pre># nano \/opt\/couchdb\/etc\/default.ini<\/pre>\n<p>Go to the &#8216;[chttpd]&#8217; line and change the bind_address value with your server&#8217;s IP address:<\/p>\n<pre>[chttpd]\r\n; These settings affect the main, clustered port (5984 by default).\r\nport = 5984\r\nbind_address = 192.168.0.24\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Restart CouchDB so the changes will take effect:<\/p>\n<pre># systemctl restart couchdb<\/pre>\n<p>Now open the following URL using your server&#8217;s IP address in your web browser:<\/p>\n<pre>http:\/\/192.168.0.24:5984\/_utils\/<\/pre>\n<p>You should see the Fauxton Web GUI interface now.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7-Create-an-Administrator-User-in-Fauxton\"><\/span>7.
