Install and configure MariaDB server<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Install MariaDB server, start it and enable it to start automatically at system boot<\/p>\n<pre>apt-get install -y mariadb-client mariadb-server\r\nsystemctl start mysql\r\nsystemctl enable mysql<\/pre>\n<p>Next, run the <code>mysql_secure_installation<\/code> post installation script to secure the MariaDB server and set root password.<\/p>\n<p>Now, login to the MariaDB server as user root and create a new user and database for the LibreNMS installation<\/p>\n<pre>MariaDB [(none)]&gt; CREATE DATABASE librenms CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci;\r\nMariaDB [(none)]&gt; CREATE USER 'librenms'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'PASSWORD';\r\nMariaDB [(none)]&gt; GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON librenms.* TO 'librenms'@'localhost';\r\nMariaDB [(none)]&gt; FLUSH PRIVILEGES;\r\nMariaDB [(none)]&gt; exit<\/pre>\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget to replace &#8216;PASSWORD&#8217; with an actual strong password.<\/p>\n<p>Open the MariaDB configuration file and add the following lines under <code>[mysqld]<\/code> section<\/p>\n<pre>nano \/etc\/mysql\/mariadb.conf.d\/50-server.cnf\r\n\r\ninnodb_file_per_table=1\r\nsql-mode=\"\"\r\nlower_case_table_names=0<\/pre>\n<p>Restart MariaDB for the changes to take effect.<\/p>\n<pre>systemctl restart mysql<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4-Install-PHP-7\"><\/span><strong>4. Install PHP 7<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>LibreNMS is a PHP based application, so we have to install PHP too. Run the following command to install PHP 7 and some additional PHP modules required by LibreNMS<\/p>\n<pre>apt-get install php7.0-cli php7.0-curl php7.0-gd php7.0-json php7.0-mcrypt php7.0-mysql php7.0-snmp php7.0-xml php7.0-zip libapache2-mod-php7.0<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5-Install-additional-required-packages\"><\/span><strong>5. Install additional required packages<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Install the following packages required by LibreNMS<\/p>\n<pre>apt-get install composer fping git graphviz imagemagick mtr-tiny nmap python-memcache python-mysqldb rrdtool snmp snmpd whois<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6-Install-and-configure-LibreNMS\"><\/span><strong>6. Install and configure LibreNMS<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Create a system user under which LibreNMS will run, and set the its home directory to \/opt\/librenms<\/p>\n<pre>useradd librenms -d \/opt\/librenms -M -r\r\nusermod -a -G librenms www-data<\/pre>\n<p>Clone the LibreNMS source code through Git.<\/p>\n<pre>cd \/opt\/\r\ngit clone https:\/\/github.com\/librenms\/librenms.git librenms<\/pre>\n<p>set the correct permission to the librenms directory<\/p>\n<pre>chown -R librenms:librenms \/opt\/librenms<\/pre>\n<p>To configure snmpd, copy the example configuration file<\/p>\n<pre>cp \/opt\/librenms\/snmpd.conf.example \/etc\/snmp\/snmpd.conf<\/pre>\n<p>Open the snmpd.conf file, edit the RANDOMSTRINGGOESHERE line and set your own community string.<\/p>\n<p>Next, download the snmpd distro detection script<\/p>\n<pre>curl -o \/usr\/bin\/distro https:\/\/raw.githubusercontent.com\/librenms\/librenms-agent\/master\/snmp\/distro<\/pre>\n<p>make it executable and restart the service<\/p>\n<pre>chmod +x \/usr\/bin\/distro\r\nsystemctl restart snmpd<\/pre>\n<p>Now, copy the cron script provided by LibreNMS to the &#8216;\/ect\/cron.d&#8217; directory.<\/p>\n<pre>cp \/opt\/librenms\/librenms.nonroot.cron \/etc\/cron.d\/librenms<\/pre>\n<p>Copy the logrotate script too, in order to rotate the old logs<\/p>\n<pre>cp \/opt\/librenms\/misc\/librenms.logrotate \/etc\/logrotate.d\/librenms<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7-Finalize-the-installation\"><\/span><strong>7.
